Meet Mugsy." My Mugsy is the heart behind this collective community and the inspiration to memorializes the life we shared.
He was my rock during a tough times in my past. At 12 years old he developed bone cancer. It's a painful and aggressive form cancer. Osteosarcoma is wicked. He went from 112 lbs. to 85 in 3 months. He would whine in pain. He was sensitive to touch. He struggled to walk. He would fall down when going to bathroom. He showed me when it was time to leave me. It broke my heart. It was just as painful, if not more than, grieving the loss of a family member. He was family. " |
Meet Tonto." I remember the first day I met Tonto. Along with countless other dogs, he and his brother were found as strays and needed out of a bad situation. We had so many years of adventure ahead of us. From that day on, life would be good together. We would love each other reverently and free of condition. Here I am 12.5 yeas after making him that promise and he is gone. I took care of him the rest of his life, but even more so, he took care of me. My heart breaks and I keep begging for this to not be real.
My heart smiles for him that he touched so many people and I believe that he feels that love as much as I do. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, I can’t even imagine how much harder this would be without your support. " |
Meet Rita.My art is my method of sharing my passion. The paintings are vibrant in color and sometimes whimsical. The drawings are freeform and casual. Buried in each portrait is a heart shape. They are my way of sending love with each piece. I worked as an interior designer for years and returned to art because I missed the pure enjoyment from creating art.
After the lost of my Mugsy, and seeing others suffering the same losses, I realized how much we all need each other in moments like these. So many helped me in my time of need, so this is my way of giving back to them all. |
